If you’re wondering why its raining in L.A. today, then you obviously haven’t heard the news: experimental instrumentalist/painter/crazy person and all around godlike figure Don Van Vliet (aka Captain Beefheart) has left us. Apparently God has given up hope on project Earth and has decided to take the last vestige of musical genius from our midst (a sort of “retreat of the remnant”, if you will). We now live in a world without Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart: eschatologize as you see fit.
